Project Objectives

Keltech aimed to implement a comprehensive energy monitoring system to measure their main electricity, gas and water supplies. The focus was on their large energy use equipment such as large plant equipment, compressors, gas ovens and ancillary equipment.


Results

The company installed meter reading systems that record data in 15-minute intervals. This data is sent to Advisor software which produces daily, weekly, monthly and annual performance reports along with required analysis by cost, energy units and CO2
 

Impact and benefits

Enabled accurate measurement energy costs for individual processes within the factory. 

  • Facilitated identification of waste energy sources.
  • Established a long-term framework for ongoing performance monitoring of both manufacturing process and the building itself providing the following key performance metrics;
    • Energy cost per unit produced
    • Energy consumption per unit produced
    • Carbon emissions per unit produced
