Irish fintech exports to the ASEAN region grew by 13% last year, contributing to total Enterprise Ireland‑supported exports to the region of €480 million. This growth has been driven by strong demand across payments, regtech, digital identity, cybersecurity and fund services, as Asia accelerates the deployment of production‑grade digital finance solutions.
Alongside Enterprise Ireland’s participation at Money20/20 Asia in Bangkok, Minister of State Robert Troy TD will travel to Singapore for a series of high‑level engagements focused on financial services, fintech and international trade collaboration.
A centrepiece of the Singapore programme is the Ireland Financial Services Business lunch, co‑hosted by Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Chamber of Commerce Singapore and IDA Ireland, in close collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland in Singapore. The event brings together more than 120 senior leaders from across Financial Services, Capital Markets, Funds and Professional Services, alongside leading Irish fintech companies and their customers and regional partners.
According to the latest Pitchbook report on Ireland’s Fintech Landscape, Enterprise Ireland ranks as the third most active fintech investor in Europe, highlighting its central role in scaling indigenous fintech innovation. Between 2018 and 2023, Enterprise Ireland‑supported fintech companies invested over €600 million in research and development, driving the creation of globally competitive financial technologies.
Speaking ahead of Money20/20 Asia, Minister of State Robert Troy TD said: “Ireland has established itself as a global leader in financial services innovation, with Irish fintech firms delivering world‑class solutions in payments, compliance, risk intelligence and digital transformation. Southeast Asia is a market of significant strategic importance for Ireland, offering strong growth, innovation leadership and a dynamic financial services ecosystem”.
Anna‑Marie Turley, Head of Fintech and Financial Services at Enterprise Ireland, said: “Irish fintech companies have built a strong reputation across Southeast Asia as trusted partners to both global and regional financial institutions, combining deep regulatory expertise with agile, scalable and secure technology. The sustained double‑digit growth we are seeing in fintech, digital and cybersecurity exports to the region reflects not only the strength and maturity of Ireland’s fintech cluster, but also the significant and growing opportunity across Asia‑Pacific.
