Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government’s trade and innovation agency, is leading a two-day trade mission to the Netherlands, culminating in attendance at Kickstart Europe 2026, the pan-European data centre event in Amsterdam. This year's delegation includes over 85 Irish companies, the largest ever assembled for the event, showcasing Ireland's world-class expertise in high-tech construction, modular delivery, advanced engineering, and data centre infrastructure solutions.
Minister of State for Digitalisation, eGovernment and Public Procurement, Frank Feighan T.D., will participate in the mission, underscoring the Irish government's commitment to fostering international partnerships in the digital infrastructure sector.
The companies taking part in the trade mission include Mercury, Sisk, PM Group and RKD Architects. The trade mission will also include a visit to a data centre built by Mercury, as well as a briefing with XOCEAN at the IJmuiden Port in Amsterdam, marking their success in the Dutch offshore wind industry. XOCEAN, a global leader in ocean data acquisition, recently announced that it won a series of five-year survey contracts with six Dutch offshore wind farms.
Participating on the trade mission, Minister of State for Digitalisation, eGovernment and Public Procurement, Frank Feighan T.D. said: "Ireland's high-tech construction sector is a key enabler of our digital economy, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that power mission-critical infrastructure worldwide. By leading this record delegation to Kickstart Europe 2026, Enterprise Ireland is showcasing the very best of Irish expertise in data centres and advanced engineering.”
Tonia Spollen, Enterprise Ireland Overseas Manager for the Benelux Region, said: “Ireland has built one of Europe’s most mature and sophisticated data centre construction and engineering ecosystems, with Irish high-tech construction firms pivotal in Europe's data centre expansion, particularly in growth markets like the Benelux region, Germany and the Nordics. With the European data centre construction market projected to reach €100 billion by 2030, the trade mission centred on the Kickstart event in Amsterdam will enable the delegation to engage directly with key stakeholders, highlight Ireland's expertise in sustainable and mission-critical infrastructure, and accelerate business opportunities in this high-growth region.”
Enterprise Ireland high-tech construction clients delivered €4.7 billion in global exports, making it the agency's largest export sector outside of food. Comprising of over 180 companies across design, build, commissioning, and maintenance, the sector employs more than 35,000 people. Data centre-related activities alone account for over €2.1 billion in exports – 42% of all high-tech construction exports – with over 180 Enterprise Ireland clients exporting to 14 countries. Since 2021, the sector has achieved a remarkable 22.5% annual growth rate, the highest among all Enterprise Ireland-supported industries.
The Netherlands represents Enterprise Ireland's 4th largest export market worldwide, with €2 billion in total exports in 2024 and strong opportunities in high-tech construction, life sciences, pharma, technology and sustainability. Nearly 50 Enterprise Ireland client companies are active in the Dutch data centre ecosystem, spanning general contracting, mechanical engineering, modular construction, and fit-out. Leading firms include Mercury, Sisk, Kirby Group, Jones Engineering, PM Group, RKD and LMH Engineering.
Kickstart Europe 2026, taking place on February 3rd and 4th at the RAI Amsterdam, is one of Europe’s premier annual events for the data centre, cloud, and digital infrastructure industries. The conference brings together industry leaders and provides an unparalleled opportunity for Irish companies to engage with global partners and strengthen their position in one of Europe’s most dynamic digital infrastructure markets.
During the trade mission, Enterprise Ireland client company Aryza, a global provider of SaaS solutions that automate processes across the credit and debt lifecycle, including credit origination, collections, recovery, and compliance, is deepening its commitment to the Dutch market, following its 2022 acquisition of Collenda. Aryza has launched Aryza Engage with full Dutch language support. This AI-driven platform enables compliant, empathetic credit and collections communications via WhatsApp, SMS, and web chat, improving customer engagement, reducing agent workloads, and meeting strict Dutch regulatory standards for the treatment of vulnerable customers and responsible lending practices.
