CBE, the retail & hospitality software company, today announced the creation of 25 new jobs in Mayo. Minister of State Dara Calleary officially announced the jobs at CBE’s international head office in Claremorris where the new jobs will be based.
CBE develop and supply electronic point of sale (EPoS) solutions for the retail and hospitality sectors. Set up in 1980 by Gerard Concannon and his wife Catherine, CBE has grown to become one of the largest EPoS providers in Europe.
CBE’s global expansion continues as they now support installations in broader regions including mainland Europe, the Nordics, Canada, Australia, the Middle East and Africa. Following significant market research with the support of Enterprise Ireland, the company is preparing to build on its presence in the UK and expand into new markets within the Eurozone.
Speaking at the announcement in Mayo, Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation Dara Calleary TD said: “Today’s announcement that CBE will undergo further expansion, creating high quality skilled jobs here in the west of Ireland is very welcome. CBE is an Irish company that has experienced impressive growth, developing and supplying EPoS solutions on a global scale and the announcement today of 25 new jobs based here in Claremorris shows that Ireland is to the forefront of development and innovation in the digital software solutions space. The Government through Enterprise Ireland looks forward to continued engagement with CBE to support their business development in overseas markets.”
Attending the event, Deputy Alan Dillion TD said: "Today's exciting news of CBE's further expansion, bringing high-quality skilled jobs to the western region of Ireland, is a significant milestone. I want to commend the Concannon Family and their skilled workforce for their relentless efforts in shaping this company's success and making CBE a globally recognised brand.”
As part of the current expansion, Enterprise Ireland is supporting the recruitment of the new positions in the company and is working with the company on a joint R&D project to integrate a number of software solutions to enhance the company’s product offering.

Supporting Irish companies with the ambition to scale globally is a key priority for Enterprise Ireland and we look forward to working closely with CBE to optimise their full international growth potential, creating and sustaining jobs here in the West of Ireland.”
