Ireland’s Sports Tech Landscape Report

Enterprise Ireland’s new Sports Tech Landscape report, powered by PitchBook data, showcases Ireland’s dynamic sports tech sector, which is driven by robust government support and strategic collaborations with national sports organisations, educational institutions, and private enterprise. Home to 93 VC-backed Irish innovators like Orreco, Kitman Labs, and Output Sports, Irish companies are making a global impact through collaborations with major global sporting brands, including the NFL, NBA, NHL, PGA Tour, F1, Olympians, Premier League, and Premiership Rugby. 

Ireland’s sports tech ecosystem has defied a recent downward trend in VC activity seen in other regions since 2022, with Irish sports tech VC deal count growing by more than 50% in 2023, compared with a drop of more than 30% for Europe overall in the same period. Enterprise Ireland stands out as Europe’s top VC investor, with 19 sports tech investments since 2024, triple the next most active investor.
