European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) & Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM): What businesses need to know and do?

Webinar

In 2025, the regulatory environment for sustainability reporting is both expanding and shifting. Even with timelines shifting, the regulatory direction is clear: disclosure requirements are becoming stricter and broader. Regulations such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will demand transparency across supply chains. The European Union’s Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) aims to ensure that products consumed within the EU do not contribute to global deforestation and requires companies to adhere to stringent regulations to ensure their products are free from deforestation. For Irish businesses the EUDR imposes specific obligations that must be met to ensure compliance and must undergo detailed due diligence and verification processes to demonstrate the deforestation-free status of their products. The EUDR will officially come into force on 30th December 2025, and businesses must ensure that their products meet the sustainability criteria outlined in the regulation. The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) aims to ensure products imported into the EU are subject to the same carbon price as products produced within the EU, to prevent carbon leakage and drive industrial decarbonisation and carbon pricing policy globally.

This webinar discusses the key aspects of both regulations and will provide guidance on becoming future ready.
