The EU Commission Omnibus package is a package of proposals published by the European Commission on 26th February 2025, one of the intentions of which is to simplify and reduce the sustainability reporting burden, particularly on companies employing less than 1000 employees. The Omnibus proposes substantial changes to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) ranging from compliance timelines and companies in scope to required data points for disclosure and assurance requirements.
Companies (who may fall out of scope) are asking what actions should they take to manage evolving ESG reporting obligations while embedding sustainability into their business strategies.
