Overview of BIM-Implement

BIM-Implement represents the training phase of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) induction offer supporting knowledge transfer leading to increased competences in BIM and a deeper understanding of supply chain implications. The aim is to embed BIM skills and knowledge across the organisation and equip the appropriate staff members with the competencies to successfully manage a BIM project.

Assignments may vary in size and scope but will typically be 6 months duration. It will not exceed a total project cost of €70,000. Assignments will be conducted in accordance with overall programme methodology as set out by Enterprise Ireland.

 

BIM-Implement Project Outcome

The participating Enterprise Ireland Company will have the requisite skill-set and trained personnel to tender for BIM Level 2 specified contracts in global and domestic markets.

 

Am I eligible?

BIM-Implement is open to SME and large companies that are Enterprise Ireland clients or potential clients who have been trading for at least 5 years engaged in manufacturing or eligible internationally traded services.

 

What costs are eligible and what is the maximum funding available?

This grant can be used to support the eligible expenditure associated with:

  1. the appointment of an approved BIM Trainer and
  2. employee participation in BIM training to develop capability within each organisation to achieve BIM Level 2 compliance.

SME or Large Company must be able to demonstrate the capability and commitment to successfully complete the BIM-Implement assignment (e.g. by having completed successfully an Enterprise Ireland BIM-Enable project or having existing experience and capability in implementing  BIM or similar). Project must demonstrate how BIM methodology and the culture and practice of business improvement will be embedded in the company.

Please note: The company must include a detailed BIM organisational training plan in the submission for support.

BIM specialist training fees at a max of €900 per day

Standard Training Rates apply:

  • Small: Max 45%
  • Medium: Max 35%
  • Large: Max 25%

The daily rate is to be inclusive of external trainer time and all associated travel, subsistence and out of pocket expenses. Where more than one external trainer is being used from the same firm the daily rates will apply to the firm. To provide a total BIM solution more than one training firm may be required.

Employee training costs and associated training costs:

The maximum eligible employee training cost is €1,000 per week per employee.  The proposed employee training costs must be assessed and approved by an Enterprise Ireland BIM team. Standard Training Rates apply:

  • Small: Max 45%
  • Medium: Max 35%
  • Large: Max 25%

Eligible Employee training costs cannot exceed eligible BIM specialist training fees.

 

What are the call close dates?

There are no call close dates. The process is not competitive and is approved by Enterprise Ireland management.

 

How do I apply?

All applications for funding should be discussed with your Enterprise Ireland Adviser prior to submission.

Prior to applying you must do the following:

If the company has already initiated a BIM Implement assignment before submitting an application to Enterprise Ireland, the application and associated expenditure will not be accepted.

 

Where can I find a suitable training provider?

A Directory of BIM trainers interested in undertaking assignments under this initiative is maintained by Enterprise Ireland. The directory holds a profile provided by each training provider on their expertise and experience with BIM projects. A company may select a trainer from this directory, or it may select a trainer who is not. In either case, before the company applies for funding, sufficient information must be provided to Enterprise Ireland to demonstrate that the proposed training provider is qualified to carry out the proposed work and has previously carried out similar assignments satisfactorily.

Enterprise Ireland does not give any warranty, either express or implied, as to the qualifications or suitability of any of the persons on the list of training providers and Enterprise Ireland will not be liable for any loss and/or damage caused by a company’s decision to retain the services of such a training provider.
