Overview of BIM-Enable

BIM-Enable is a 7 day strategic consultancy programme designed to heighten Building Information Modelling (BIM) knowledge across the business functions and ultimately deliver a bespoke roadmap to Level 2 BIM proficiency based upon the company’s vision and resources. BIM-Enable is intended for clients lacking capability in BIM methodologies.

BIM Enable Project Outcome

Upon completion, the participating Enterprise Ireland Company will possess:

  • a deeper understanding of the UK and international opportunities presented by BIM;
  • a business needs assessment to help understand their BIM requirements;
  • a customised roadmap to help client companies and their senior team implement and exploit BIM within their organisation including an outline of training requirements if applicable.

Am I eligible?

BIM-Enable is open to SME and Large companies that are Enterprise Ireland clients or potential clients who have been trading for at least 5 years engaged in manufacturing or eligible internationally traded services.

What costs are eligible and what is the maximum funding available?

The typical cost of undertaking a BIM-Enable assignment is €8,400. The company must pay the first €2,100 and Enterprise Ireland will provide grant funding for the outstanding costs to a maximum of €6,300.

The maximum grant funding available from Enterprise Ireland is €6,300. If the cost of the BIM Enable assignment is less than €8,400 the company is still required to pay the first €2,100 in costs.

Eligible Expenditure is limited to the cost of hiring a BIM consultant for a maximum of 7 days.

The maximum daily fee payable to a consultant is €1,200 inclusive of travel and subsistence and all out-of-pocket expenses.

Note: Receipt of other grants from Enterprise Ireland may impact on your eligibility for support under this initiative.

What are the call close dates?

There are no call close dates. The process is not competitive and is approved by Enterprise Ireland management.

How do I apply?

All applications for funding should be discussed with your Enterprise Ireland Adviser prior to submission.

You can apply via the Enterprise Ireland Online Application System.

Prior to applying you must do the following:

If the company has already initiated a BIM Enable assignment before submitting an application to Enterprise Ireland, the application and associated expenditure will not be accepted.

Where can I find a suitable consultant?

A Directory of Consultants interested in undertaking assignments under this initiative is maintained by Enterprise Ireland. The directory holds a profile provided by each consultant on their expertise and experience with BIM projects. A company may select a consultant from this directory, or it may select a consultant who is not. In either case, before the company applies for funding, sufficient information must be provided to Enterprise Ireland to demonstrate that the proposed consultant is qualified to carry out the proposed work and has previously carried out similar assignments satisfactorily.

Enterprise Ireland does not give any warranty, either express or implied, as to the qualifications or suitability of any of the persons on the list of consultants and Enterprise Ireland will not be liable for any loss and/or damage caused by a company’s decision to retain the services of such a consultant.
