Abhay Johorey, Head of Digital Solutions, IDFC Bank

Abhay started his career with Citibank, India in 1990 and over the last 28 years has amassed a wide spec-trum of experience in the Services sector across various geographies & Industries. Since 2014, Abhay is the Digital & Payment Initiatives Head for IDFC Bank & is responsible for IDFC Bank’s digital business strategy. The position champions the use of information & technology in business model design, and all aspects of the business to create business success.

As Head of Digital Innovation, his key responsibilities include the following:

  • Respond to the disruptions in the Indian Payment Market by build products and services on top of the current infrastructure, rethink the long-standing approaches to cross-border payments & invest in fintech through an innovation hub
  • Drive an Omni channel customer experience by transforming the traditional banking businesses into a digital enterprise.
  • Partner with the CMO to develop company wide commitment for the digital vision that maps end-to-end strategy, design & implementation of the company’s digital roadmap.
  • Partner with the CIO & IT organization to develop & exploit new digital business solutions to create a competitive edge for the enterprise.
  • Provide a single point of co-ordination and executive oversight for all digital & transformation projects.
  • Act as a thought leader on emerging digital business models and technologies, articulating the digital future and the enterprise’s role in it internally & externally.
  • Partner Business Analytics teams in creating analytics systems & processes to capture, organize and leverage existing & new data to understand & improve customer experience.
  • Audit independent Digital Journeys in the organization, understands portfolio & capability. Identifies benefits of digitization and recommends prioritized deployment with clear business case.
  • Connect digital investments to enterprise KPIs in order to achieve positive digital transformation. De-fine & reports on metrics that represent progress against digital goals.
  • Build & maintain external relationships in academia, as well as with industry bodies, vendors and technology analysts to learn & influence.
