About the Workshop

With recent CSO reports highlighting a continuing fall in the national unemployment rate, and more and more companies seeking to increase headcount, the environment for attracting and retaining talent and skills has become increasingly competitive.

A recent CIPD HR Practices in Ireland survey (CIPD, 20171) found that almost four out of five respondents across both public and private sector have experienced skills shortages. In addition, ISME (20162) reports that two in five SMEs believe one of the biggest obstacles to their growth is the ability and resources to employ the right staff.

In this difficult recruitment market, it is of growing importance that indigenous companies become more innovative and flexible with how they attract and retain key skills. (Lincoln Recruitment Specialists, 20183).

This workshop aims to support SMEs to explore and understand the benefits they can offer as employers and package and market them in an attractive manner to engage candidates.

The overall objective of the Attracting & Retaining Talent workshop is to support client companies attract, develop and retain the best talent to support the growth of their business. Participant companies will learn how to implement and manage an effective recruitment process to attract, select and onboard the key skills they require to grow their business. They will understand how to engage and retain key talent though establishing an appropriate culture, development and career progression opportunities.

Specifically, the workshop aims to build a bespoke Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to support client companies in the following areas:

    • Build a structured and robust talent management process to attract and engage key talent into your organisation.
    • Enable you to compete effectively for skills and engage with the right talent for your business.
