Matt Cooper, is a broadcaster, newspaper columnist and best selling author, and a regular chairman at business and sports events.
He presents and edits the daily news, current affairs and sports programme The Last Word on Today FM from Monday to Friday, 4.30pm to 7pm.
He has been the presenter of live GAA coverage on TV3 since from 2008 and previously hosted that station's rugby world cup coverage in 2007 and champions league soccer coverage. He is a fomer editor of The Sunday Tribune, having been appointed at the age of 30 in 1996. He left for a career in radio in 2003 but continues to write leader page columns for the Irish edition of the Sunday Times and for the Friday edition of the Irish Examiner. He was twice national journalist of the yearand twice business journalist of the year.
His first book "Who Really Runs Ireland" was published in 2009 and was a number one bestseller. His second book "How Ireland Really Went Bust" was published in 2011 and was the overall third highest selling Irish non-fiction book in that year.
He regularly acts as chairman or speaker at business conferences and as a master of ceremonies at awards events.
