Enterprise Ireland announces regional ‘Brexit Customs Briefing’ webinar series
30th November 2020

Enterprise Ireland has announced a series of regional business webinars, ‘Brexit Customs Briefing Series: Critical steps to get ready for new customs rules from January 1st, 2021’, which will take place 07-11 December.
As the Brexit transition period comes to an end on 31 December 2020, Irish businesses involved in trade with the UK will need to operate in a new business environment.
To assist Irish companies with their final preparations, Enterprise Ireland in partnership with Local Enterprise Offices has schedule a series of webinar briefings tailored towards five regions around Ireland. The webinars are complimentary and are open to any Irish business involved in importing and exporting goods to and from the UK.
Monday, 7 December: Dublin & Mid-East Region (Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Wicklow)
Tuesday, 8 December: Mid-West Region (Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary)
Wednesday, 9 December: North-East & North West Region (Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Louth, Monaghan, Sligo)
Thursday 10 December: South & South-East Region (Carlow, Cork, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford)
Friday, 11 December: Midlands & West Region (Galway, Laois, Longford, Mayo, Offaly, Roscommon, Westmeath)
Each webinar will be hosted by an Enterprise Ireland Regional Director. Speakers include the Local Enterprise Office’s Head of Enterprise, a representative from the Brexit team for Revenue, Irish Tax & Customs, and an expert who will advise on logistics, freight and customs clearance. Leaders in businesses involved in export/import will also share their insights into their Brexit preparations.
Giles O’Neill, Manager of the Brexit Unit with Enterprise Ireland said: “It is critical that Irish companies trading with the UK have the processes in place that will help them to minimise disruption to their businesses in 2021 and beyond. In September this year, Enterprise Ireland undertook research which found that one in five companies were still understanding what they needed to do to prepare for Brexit.
“While many companies have taken action, many others still need to prepare for what will be key challenges, such as customs and logistics. Enterprise Ireland’s ‘Brexit Customs Briefings’ will provide those companies with practical information and guidance on the vital steps they need to undertake before 01 January.”
