Thursday 23rd October 2014  -  Wicklow and Istanbul

Irish vehicle noise control specialists, Ventac announce the initiation of trade with TEMSA Global, a leading Turkish bus and coach manufacturer. The announcement was made during the Enterprise Ireland trade mission currently underway in Turkey, led by Minister for Business and Employment, Ged Nash TD.

TEMSA, one of Turkey’s leading automotive companies, manufactures and distributes buses and coaches under its own brand in domestic and international markets. TEMSA’s manufacturing facility in Adana has a single-shift annual production capacity of 4,000 buses and coaches and 7,500 light trucks, totalling 11,500 vehicles per year.

Ventac, based in Blessington, Ireland provide acoustic engineering solutions for vehicle noise control to bus, agricultural, industrial and specialist vehicle OEM’s. Currently employing 41 people, Ventac offers its customers expertise on how to efficiently equip their vehicles to achieve their noise targets. Ventac have been engaged by TEMSA as acoustic experts to assist them in achieving new standards of cabin refinement for their new TS45 product. Ventac worked with TEMSA R&D over a 7 month period to create a bespoke acoustic specification for the vehicle which would achieve TEMSA’s noise level targets. This was achieved through a combination of vehiclecharacterisation, acoustic material development at Ventac laboratory and design and supply of prototype vehicle acoustic treatment kit. Noise levels have been reduced by up to 4.7dB within the coach cabin.

Speaking from Istanbul, Minister Nash said: “Exporting companies are significant contributors to the performance of the Irish economy. The Action Plan for jobs places a strong focus on growing export sales and assisting indigenous companies to realise their export potential. Today’s announcement by Ventac that they have been appointed suppliers to leading Turkish company TEMSA Global demonstrates the calibre of Ventac’s innovation and technology, and provides a great example of the type of innovative companies which my Department supports through Enterprise Ireland.  I congratulate Ventac and wish them continued success as they grow their international footprint”.

The TEMSA Adana Plant occupies a total area of 555,000 square-meters. TEMSA has a range of products that help customers navigate through the changing environment and adapt their fleet to new passengers’ requirements and travel trends.
