Interested exporters are urged to apply and the closing date for applications is 17th October 2012.
Launching the awards, Deirdre McPartlin, Enterprise Ireland Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland said:
“The Irish Exporter to Germany Awards mark 50 years of growth and success by Irish companies exporting to Germany. These awards aim to celebrate companies which have pursued successful market entry or growth strategies and companies that are effectively using online media to capture a greater market share.
“Enterprise Ireland clients grew their exports to Germany by 17% in 2011. Given the stability and resilience of the German market and the ever increasing sophistication of Irish company offerings, we expect further growth in the coming years. Ireland opened its first trade development office in Germany in 1962. Today, through our office in Germany, Enterprise Ireland continues to offer existing and new exporters support in all aspects of entering and penetrating the market.”
Holger Erdmann, Deputy CEO of the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce encouraged Irish exporters to intensify their work in the German market:
“Exports are the cornerstone of the Irish economy and there is plenty of scope for Irish exporters considering the German market. Even in recent difficult times for the world economy, Germany has performed very well and there are plenty of opportunities which if realised will ultimately support the sustained recovery of the Irish economy. We are delighted to be involved in the Irish Exporter to Germany Awards which recognise outstanding performances and also incentivise an even stronger focus of the Irish export industry on Germany in the future.”
