Pivotal International announces €750,000 contract for new hospital design project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Minister O’Sullivan Leads Enterprise Ireland Trade Mission of 45 Companies to Saudi Arabia and Qatar and Meets SAK Pivotal

Pivotal International with its headquarters in Waterford today (Monday, 17th October, 2011) announced that it has secured a contract for over €750,000 to complete the detailed design of the prestigious New Dr. Solaiman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH) & Trauma Centre in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as Sub-Consultant to the Main Consultant SAK Consultant Office.

The announcement was made during this week’s Enterprise Ireland trade mission of 45 companies to Saudi Arabia and Qatar led by the Minister for Trade and Development, Jan O’Sullivan T.D.

Pivotal International is a multi-discipline consultancy, made up of four established Irish based built environment service companies called Nevin Construction, Fewer Harrington & Partners Architects, Thomas Garland & Partners and MacArdle McSweeney Associates. Pivotal International provides full professional services in the form of a one-stop shop from project inception through to construction stage and successful completion.  The seed idea was developed collectively by the members to offer the combined high skills base of the each of respective teams in one brand, one point of contact, one contract to the construction sector in the Gulf region.

Welcoming the announcement Minister O’Sullivan said:  ‘Saudi Arabia is a key target market for Irish firms with major infrastructure and development projects underway in the country.  This is a highly significant contract for Pivotal International, and confirms that business opportunities for Irish firms in this sector are strong.  The openings are there for Irish companies to impress with their expertise, innovation and customer service, strengthen their business linkages and grow their export sales’.

SAK Consultant Office (Lead Consultant) have teamed up with Pivotal International and American based Architects KMD to deliver the new DSFH & Trauma Centre in Jeddah which is set to be the most prestigious and advanced hospital facility in the region.  The excellent working relationship and understanding between SAK and Pivotal from this project has resulted in the shared proposal for the development for a SAK Pivotal office in Jeddah and to be called Al Jazeera Pivotal.

SAK Consultant Office in their own right are an extremely successful and well established Architectural practice in the KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and their founder Sheikh Solaiman El Khereiji has been leading the way with award winning designs and developments across the region.  The combined forces of local skills and knowledge with international expertise has been an interesting proposition for delivering best in practice to the Jeddah market comments Sheikh Solaiman.  Sheikh Solaiman also states “I have encouraged our teams to join and explore the possibilities of our core strengths, we are delighted to have joined with Pivotal and we look forward to exciting and challenging projects in the future”.
