Web-Sat Ltd has developed systems and services to provide
bi-directional high speed internet and VPN access via Satellite.
This low cost solution provides "always on" internet service
independent of local infrastructure such as telephone lines, ISDN,
ADSL etc. The service offers an effective permanent 2-way circuit
resulting in both time and cost savings to the end user. Applications
include high speed internet, file transfer, video streaming,
multicasting and interactive multimedia
Web-Sat technology has been supplied to Canada North America and
Australia. The Hub/ISP in Dublin provides service to customers in all
of Europe, North Africa, Russia and the Middle East via Eutelsat
satellite W3. Part of the core technology developed by Web-Sat has
been patented. Web-Sat Ltd is a majority Irish owned company.
The Web-Sat SIT (Satellite Interactive Terminal) consists of 2 circuit
boards which fit in a standard PC or server, a satellite
receive/transmit dish and outdoor electronics.
