Skytek developed for the European Space Agency (ESA)
an application to assist astronauts undertake complex
tasks and procedures on board the International Space
Station.
The application known as COReCT (Critical Operations
e-based Control Tool) is a web-based system designed
to assist repair and maintenance crews undertake complex
operations. There is currently no generic software application
in the marketplace that 'walks' a user through a complex
procedure. COReCT performs a number of functions within
an organisation
- As a mobile resource for personnel undertaking repairs
and maintenance
- Man-machine interface to equipment
- Training tool for repair and maintenance
- Quality assurance
The technology represents a major innovation in the
arena of repair and maintenance and also technical training.
The system provides a framework that eliminates the need
for paper based manuals and ensures that information is
always current. The system is ideal for large engineering
companies where technical training and mobile repair crews
are a key feature of company business.
