Training for Innovation and R&D

Our aim under the Innovation Management Initiative is to:

  • increase the innovation performance (both technical & non-technical) of Irish based companies
  • increase the number of companies undertaking R&D for the first time
  • improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the innovation and R&D process in those companies already undertaking R&D
  • achieve value added R&D by capturing the creative potential of employees.


Training Programmes

  • Introduction to Innovation and R&D Management

    A programme aimed at companies with a low level of innovation and R&D activity or those companies becoming involved with innovation and R&D for the first time. 

    Delivered by: Innovator

  • i2p (Innovate to Profit)

    A programme aimed at companies with a higher level of innovation and R&D activity that are moving to a position of international best practice in this area.

  • BA in Technology Management
    A one year Degree programme which is designed to equip employees with the capabilities to enhance their careers in technology driven firms, where innovation and technology transfer are critical to the success of the organisation.

  • MSc in Technology Management

    A Masters programme to develop professionally-trained managers and entrepreneurs who will drive innovation in new and established companies. 

    Delivered by: The National Institute of Technology Management (NITM) at UCD

  • MSc in Technology Management by distance education

    A Masters programme, delivered through distance education, which aims to develop employees knowledge of technology management, thus enabling participants and companies to gain competitive advantage through their technology.

    Delivered by: The Atlantic University Alliance (AUA)

  • Champions of Innovation Programme

    A support action for consultants, trainers and industry professionals providing Seminars, Workshops and Regional Networking on innovation and R&D Management tools and techniques.

    Delivered by: Enterprise Ireland


Support

Participation fees of eligible companies will be funded by Enterprise Ireland at a rate of 70% for SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs for all of the above courses except for the MSc in Technology Management at NITM. Terms and Conditions apply.

Who can participate?

Eligible companies are those from manufacturing and internationally traded services sectors, who are clients of Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development, Údarás na Gaeltachta, IDA Ireland or The County Enterprise Boards.
