Overview of LeanTransform

LeanTransform is a large scale, extensive and holistic company transformation programme delivered by an external consultancy team of international reputation. LeanTransform projects should;

  • deliver company-wide transformation in culture and productivity performance,
  • embed the competencies necessary for on-going competitiveness gains in the company, and
  • result in sustainable improvement in the business and across its supply chain.

Assignments will typically run for at least one year. The assignment is preceded by a scoping exercise.

Am I eligible?

LeanTransform is open to all Enterprise Ireland clients or potential clients who have been trading for at least 5 years engaged in manufacturing or eligible internationally traded services. However, the LeanTransform initiative is primarily designed for larger companies with significant operations who can demonstrate to Enterprise Ireland that they have existing capability and resources to implement a programme of this scale.

What costs are eligible and what is the maximum funding available?

Eligible costs include:

  • Fees for an external Lean consultant/trainer of international reputation.
  • Employee training costs and associated training costs.

The maximum daily fee payable to a consultant/trainer should be inclusive of all travel and subsistence expenses.  A maximum eligible daily rate limit of €900 applies to the first 20 days.  Where a consultancy contract exceeds 20 days, a reduced maximum fee of €700 applies for every day thereafter, up to 40 days after which a reduced rate of €600 applies.

The maximum eligible employee training cost is €1,000 per week.  The proposed employee training costs must be assessed and approved by an Enterprise Ireland human resource specialist.

The maximum level of grant support is up to 50% of eligible costs incurred.  The percentage and level of funding will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Enterprise Ireland Investment Committee.

The Lean Project Officer is for €40,000 grant over two years on a maximum salary of €80,000. This equates to a €20,000 grant per year for a maximum of 114 days (20,000/114 = €175/day).

Receipt of other grants from Enterprise Ireland may impact on your eligibility for support under this initiative.  The maximum percentage level of funding may be reduced if you have raised funds under the Employment Investment and Incentive Scheme (EII) or Seed Capital Scheme (SCS). For further information, please discuss with your Enterprise Ireland Adviser.

What are the call close dates?

There are no call close dates. The process is not competitive and is approved by Enterprise Ireland management.

Where can I find a suitable consultant/trainer?

A directory of consultants/trainers interested in undertaking assignments under this initiative is maintained by Enterprise Ireland.  The directory holds a profile provided by each consultant/trainer on their expertise and experience with Lean projects. A company may select a consultant/trainer from this directory, or it may select a consultant/trainer who is not. In either case, before the company applies for funding, sufficient information must be provided to Enterprise Ireland to demonstrate that the proposed consultant/trainer is qualified to carry out the proposed work and has previously carried out similar assignments satisfactorily.

Please ensure you carefully read the Guidelines for Use of Directory [excel format] prior to selecting from the list of consultants/trainers.

Enterprise Ireland does not give any warranty, either express or implied, as to the qualifications or suitability of any of the persons on the list of consultants/trainers and Enterprise Ireland will not be liable for any loss and/or damage caused by a company’s decision to retain the services of such a consultant/trainer.
