As head of Global Business Development, Julie leads a team of Irish-based Business Development Advisers within Enterprise Ireland, working with established businesses, to help them strategically position themselves in the global marketplace. Julie's specific portfolio includes Food, Internationally Traded Services, Software and Public Procurement, Construction, Engineering and Consumer, Cleantech, Electronics and Lifesciences.
Julie has held many senior positions at Enterprise Ireland. In her previous role, she was Director of Entrepreneurship, Regional Development and HR with responsibility for developing the organisation's strategy and ensuring delivery of its corporate objectives and targets.
Prior to this Julie led the Strategic Change Unit and the Investment Services Division where she was responsible for the equity portfolio and venture capital funds in Ireland. Julie also has extensive experience working with the food industry and supporting the development of new start-up companies.
Before joining Enterprise Ireland, Julie spent ten years with IDA Ireland and has also worked in two banks, First National Bank of Chicago and Trinity Bank. Julie has represented Enterprise Ireland on the Indigenous Industry Advisory Group to the Enterprise Strategy Group and the Agri 2010 Strategy Group.
Julie is originally from Co. Down and holds a primary degree in Business Studies from the University of Ulster. She has an MBA in International Business from Fordham University (New York) and in 2005 she completed the Stanford Executive Program in California.
