Gerry Murphy is an Executive Director of Enterprise Ireland with specific responsibility for Enterprise Ireland’s operations in the United States of America and Canada, based in New York.
Previously Gerry was Director for International Sales & Partnering where he managed Enterprise Ireland’s overseas office network. Over 30 international offices provide a range of supports to help Irish companies increase their exports. In this role Gerry restructured the overseas network to provide wider global coverage and introduced a number of new services including sales incubator offices, access to external international mentors/advisers, and introductions to sources of global finance and technology.
Prior to this, Gerry held a number of senior positions in the Irish Trade Board, including European Director based in Brussels. Gerry has also managed Irish Trade Board operations in London and Sydney.
Gerry has served on a number of Irish Government Advisory Boards relating to export strategy and was a Director of the Irish National Software Centre. He has lectured in Business Studies at University College Dublin and the Dundalk Institute of Technology and has engaged in international consultancy in a number of countries on business and marketing issues. He has also undertaken consultancy assignments for the World Bank and the International Trade Centre (Geneva).
Gerry is originally from Co. Louth and holds a B.Comm and M.Econ.Sc from University College Dublin and has completed the Executive Development Program at Stanford University, California.
