Enterprise Ireland eBusiness Unit Podcast: Social media and micro-blogging for business
Welcome to the latest podcast from Enterprise Ireland's eBusiness Unit. For this episode we talked to two experienced practitioners about social media and micro-blogging for SMEs. Micro-blogging is perhaps more familiar to those who send texts via mobile. Based around 140 characters, services such as Twitter have quickly become essential tools for both personal and business communications. Our guests explain why social media and micro-blogging is potentially a key part of a business's marketing communications mix and some of the ways it is already being put to use by organisations.
Our guests were Andrew Townley [@atownley] and Conor Lynch [@connector_ie]. Andrew Townley is the founder and MD of Archistry Limited. His main focus is helping clients effectively manage, use and secure ICT to deliver their corporate performance goals. He is an international speaker and author of several papers and articles on Enterprise Architecture, SOA and Information Assurance. Conor Lynch is the founder of Connector, an Irish social media business specialising in creating connections online and offline through events, training and consultancy. He is an honours marketing graduate and has worked in digital and social media marketing for 12 years. He is the current Chair of the Irish Internet Association's 'Social Media Working Group', which has the objective of promoting social media best practice in Ireland.
