QC Logistics

6 . Outcome

6.1 Benefits for clients

There are 3 main benefits for clients:

  • Better efficiency – IonData Lite allows warehouse staff to be far more efficient in their processing of goods into, and out of, the warehouse.
  • Easier production of reports – The new system allows staff to quickly and easily produce a number of reports at the touch of a button. These are emailed to clients for inclusion in their stock systems. Future developments of the system will allow clients to log on, through the QC Logistics web site, to an extranet, where they will be able to build and print their own reports on an as-needed basis.
  • Better stock traceability – The labelling and scanning system employed by IonData Lite makes the tracking and tracing of particular stocks items far easier. Additionally, with staff logging into the system, it will also be possible to identify the exact user that picked the stock.

6.2 Benefits for QC Logistics

  • Reduced level of paperwork – The system now in place has greatly reduced the need for paperwork thus reducing the manpower required to run the warehouse and making the whole process of running the warehouse far less time consuming overall. Without the new system, as business increased, QC would have had to have employed more labour and therefore increased costs.
  • Reporting – The reports produced by IonData Lite add real value to the management of the warehouse. The reports are produced once a week and stored centrally for management to view at their leisure.
  • Gives customers confidence – Investing in leading edge IT solutions gives clients peace of mind and confidence in the service offered by QC.
  • Ease of invoicing – Because the IonData Lite system is tied into Sage, invoicing is more straightforward.
  • Competitive advantage – The new systems in place give QC Logistics a competitive advantage over other potential suppliers in the marketplace.
