C&D Foods Ltd

7 . Future Plans
  1. If C&D Foods had freed enough management time to enable effective project management they would have faced less challenges in implementation. This has led them to rethink the way that they currently manage their IT infrastructure. They have decided to split Jimmy Dalton’s current role as Administration Manager in two: Cost Accountant and IT Manager. This will enable the new IT Manager to focus exclusively on the development and day-to-day operation of the new IT infrastructure. One of the first tasks of the new IT Manager is to brief Terry Carr on his resource requirements in order to roll the ERP system to the wider business and start to bring the benefits originally planned for on line.
  2. Whilst there is evidence of cost savings and efficiencies as a result of the implementation of the new back-office system, the benefits to date have been in improved administration processes. The next phase will see the extension of ERP system to the wider business. The TROPOS product has been designed with this capability in mind and should deliver substantial benefits going forward. Over the coming months C&D Foods will be able to move from the traditional environment of bulk stock holding to a product-controlled, traceable handling of products. The system will trace product from the original supplier, through the manufacturing process and to the final customer.
