Tecpro

7 . Lessons Learnt and Advice

James Neary gives the following recommendations:

  • Spend as much time as you can scoping out the project, I should have spent at least two extra months on this phase to avoid the delays we incurred.
  • Build a comprehensive project plan and stick to it.
  • Spend time predicting the bandwidth your systems will need once they are operational.

8. Future Plans

Tecpro plan to continue their improvements and dedication to ebusiness. They have recently purchased a CRM [Customer Relationship Management – see sidebar] system to improve sales, marketing and customer handling. This Goldmine CRM system is now being integrated with the Intact MIS system to gain total transparency on all activities. Data has only to be entered once with all systems feeding off an integrated database. Tecpro’s distributors in UK, Germany and Singapore automatically synchronise with this database every Thursday evening. At the weekly Sales meeting on Friday mornings, the required level of visibility on the company’s worldwide sales activities, is available to all participants.
