System Label

6 Outcome

6.1 Benefits for Customers

  • Faster response time – With a much more efficient order processing system and the ability to now check stocks across both plants, System Label can offer a far quicker response time to customers. The target for turn-around of an order was five days – most orders are now being fulfilled well within that timeframe.
  • Capacity – Now that the two plants are linked, clients are starting to realise the benefits of a company with twice the capacity of either site on its own.
  • Lower cost – A part can now be produced wherever capacity is available and this will reflect back in a lower cost for the customer. Additionally, reduction in wastage through better use of raw materials will also contribute to lower costs for the customer.

6.2 Benefits for System Label

  • Better efficiency – As the new systems are now in place, improved efficiencies will lead to increased profits.
  • Reduced cost threshold – As the cost threshold for jobs has been reduced from €2,000 to less that €200, smaller jobs can now be undertaken. Improved efficiencies mean that System Label is now seeing margin on these smaller jobs.
  • Making better use of raw material – The raw materials module offers better management of materials stocks (i.e. there is now a visible reduction in the stock being held) plus the ability to reduce the amount of wastage (through non-use of part used stocks).
  • Better utilised capacity – As the work can be split across two plants, the capacity of work undertaken is increasing. Even if either of the plants was twice the size, it would still be less efficient than the two plants functioning as separate entities. For example, the plants can cover production for bank holidays in each of the countries.
  • Reduced data entry – The Data Integration module has removed the need to re-key data into the two systems. This removal of data-entry means that customer service staff can now focus on adding value to the process.
  • Disaster recovery and management – In the event that one or other of the plants should ever have to be shut down, the work can still be undertaken by the unaffected plant. This offers System Label clients great peace of mind.
