Developing an Internet strategy
What is an internet strategy?
Developing an Internet strategy means asking some basic questions:
- Why do you want to put your business on-line?
- What benefits will it bring?
- What effects will it have on your staff, suppliers and customers?
An Internet strategy requires you to address the reasons you want to go on-line. Going on-line because it seems like the right thing to do at the moment or because everyone else is doing it is not a good enough reason.
You must decide how you are going to best utilise the Internet for your particular needs. You must plan for where you want your business to go and how best the Internet can help shape that vision. Before developing your strategy spend time on the Internet, see what similar businesses to your own have developed, and what is most feasible, given your set of resources.
