Commercialisation Fund - Technology Development

COMMERCIALISATION FUND: TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

Please note that the 2010 schedule for Calls for Proposals has not been finalised.  The website will be updated as soon as the new deadlines become available.

Please note that a pre-submission stage has been introduced to the Technology Development phase of the Commercialisation Fund. This new stage will formalise the interaction between the Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Specialist, the Technology Transfer Office in the college and the applicant. Our experience has shown that early interactions improve the quality of proposals and lead on to well developed projects. The key aspects and timeline are outlined below.

What is the Technology Development phase?

Technology Development phase of the Commercialisation Fund - funds research aimed at major technology development around platform technologies or groups of products built around a new technology. The underlying technologies must be sound and there should be an identifiable market.

Available funding and support:

The fund supports research in areas of technology of medium term interest to industry in Ireland leading to technologies, products or processes that can provide the basis of new businesses in Ireland or can improve the competitiveness of industry in Ireland through licensing agreements.

The Technology Development grants are subject to the terms of a grant agreement between the host institution and Enterprise Ireland.  They cover 100% of all eligible costs (e.g. personnel, equipment, material and travel).  Grants of €100k to €400k may be awarded for 18-36 months.
