Enterprise Platform Programme (EPP)

This is a one-year full-time professional training and enterprise support programme aimed at the needs of entrepreneurs in a business start-up situation.

Who is Eligible?

Entrepreneurs who have a well thought out innovative business idea or technology that has the potential to be transformed into a High Potential Start Up company with export potential and be close to market.  Your business plan should be investor ready.

Ideally participants will have a third-level qualification and a level of practical experience gained from working in a relevant professional environment.

Support Provided

  • One to one business counselling
  • Access to the training and consultancy services of partner organisations
  • Access to resources including incubation units, pilot plant and meeting facilities
  • Introduction to a support network of mentors, venture capitalists and other support agencies as appropriate such as County Enterprise Boards
  • Each participant is assigned a personal mentor under Enterprise Ireland's Mentor Programme, and undergoes an intensive training course, delivered by academics and consultants, on entrepreneurship and business management and development.

Funding

If you are leaving full-time employment and have an eligible business concept to assist your business in its first year, you are eligible to apply for funding under this programme. 

Funding is a two stage process:

  • Once you are accepted on the EPP Programme, a grant of €550 per month is available from the Higher Education Authority.
  • Subject to Enterprise Ireland's approval, additional funding in the form of a total package of 50% of your verifiable (P60/P45) salary up to a maximum €38,000 for one year.
