Aim of the R&D Fund: Small Projects (Expenditure less than €150,000)
The R&D Fund: Small Projects provision is to support companies aiming towards achieving the following:
- Establishing or increasing the R&D activity leading to an on-going R&D commitment in driving company development
- A demonstratable connection between R&D and the overall business objectives
- A culture of innovative thinking throughout the company which aims to harness the skills of all staff towards defined business goals
- Establishing or increasing the R&D capability within the company
- Establish or develop quality R&D management systems and procedures

Do I qualify?
The Fund is open to Enterprise Ireland, Údaras na Gaeltachta and City and County Enterprise Board clients who are manufacturing or Internationally Traded Service companies that can show adequate cash resources to implement the proposed project.
Please note that large companies (i.e. companies who exceed the definition of a Small to Medium sized Enterprise SME ) are not eligible if they have previously been approved financial support toward R&D in the last 7 years from any of the following Agencies; Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development, Údaras na Gaeltachta or the Industrial Development Authority (IDA).

How do I apply?
Applicants must complete an application which comprises of the following elements:
Some supporting documentation is required and is outlined in the Company Guidelines. Please refer to the Company Guidelines for assistance in completing the application documentation.
Applications will be subject to an application process.
Please note it is advisable to discuss your project ideas with your local agency adviser prior to submitting a completed application.

Call close dates
Applications for funding will be considered on a monthly call basis. The call close is 5:30pm on the last working day of each month from August 2008.
