The European Science Foundation (ESF) is an association of national organisations throughout Europe involved in the support of scientific research. Enterprise Ireland a ESF member organisation. ESF is committed to promoting high quality science at the European level.

Its activities are open to all members of Europe's scientific community. The criteria of scientific excellence and European added value underpin all ESF activities. ESF activities tend to operate in the more 'basic' part of the research spectrum.
