Published market research and official information sources such as standards and trade regulations can be very useful as part of a balanced approach to gathering business data and knowledge.   This is how the Information Centre can fill the gap.

Better business decisions are not the only benefit of using such sources.  For example:

• Supporting your arguments with suitable data or quotations from these sources can be a powerful tool when you need to convince Venture Capitalists (VCs), potential distributors, grant-giving agencies, etc.
• A quick scan through an analyst's report about a potential key customer, just before your first meeting, can help you to show that you have gone to the trouble of doing homework on the client.  It can also give valuable clues on how best to tailor your sales pitch to them. 

Accessing our Information

This information comes in the form of printed reports, CDs and subscriptions to online databases from many world leading market research companies.   A team of information specialists use these resources to answer phone or email queries from clients. 

The full version of some of the reports, CDs etc, can be viewed by clients who make an appointment to visit the Information Centre in Glasnevin.  Click here to view a location map for Enterprise Ireland, Glasnevin.  If you are based outside Dublin, it may be possible to arrange to see the report in your local Regional office.  Unfortunately, due to copyright licence agreements, publications cannot be loaned out and indeed, some cannot be shown to non-staff. 

Cost

The service is mostly free.  Where there is an incurred cost, this will be passed on to you. 

Copyright & Distribution

The service is available to Enterprise Ireland clients only.  This is due to resource constraints and copyright agreements with the various database suppliers.   Non-clients are welcome to consult the our online guide to The Internet as Business Intelligence tool
