Members of the Board
The members of the Board of Enterprise Ireland are appointed by An Tánaiste, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, with the consent of the Minister for Finance. The CEO of Enterprise Ireland is an ex officio member of the board.
The Board is responsible for setting the broad policies of the organisation and delegates to management and sub-committees the responsibility for their implementation. In its own activities and in its use of committees, the Board operates towards best private sector corporate governance principles. The Board has statutory authority to approve funding support, including the authority to purchase shares (ordinary and preference) in companies, up to the levels set in the Industrial Development (Enterprise Ireland) Act 1986, as amended, and to make recommendations to Government on funding support above these levels.
